On this side things are pretty hectic. The band did its first appearance at Muddy Waters on May 6th. We started late because of the Champions league match but it was worth it as the place was full of people. They really enjoyed our set and had to do 2 encores…not bad for a debut… hehe! Sound was a bit overloading for such a small place but that’s something that’ll get better in time as we get tighter and sharper. I thank Patrick the owner which was very helpful. By the way our name is Rooftop.
On my solo stuff the material had a small halt in the songwriting due to the gig mentioned up here. But work is still going on great with Simon who’s playing bass and drums on the ‘ready’ tunes plus mixing. I tell you he’s doing a great job. He made me hear some rough takes of one of the tunes called Storm Warning and man he did an awesome job! Apart from being a great bass player with Rooftop too…
The Music Man guitar arrived!! When I went to pick it up I was expecting to find an incredible guitar but I found more! It’s a unique axe that has to be played so that one can really grasp its greatness. I’m taking a big photo shoot with it and soon all will be uploaded here. Next gig I will be using it for sure! I can’t thank Ben from Wave Music enough for making all this happen. A big thanks to Nathan from Music Man too which handled everything from the company‘s side. Its finish is a work of art and something I never experienced in a guitar before.
At the moment I’m seriously considering to re shuffle the way I teach so that I can make it even more fruitful to my students. But I didn’t decide on the manner as yet. Anyhow I have 16 lessons up here which I trust you’re finding interesting and helpful to your playing. Do contact me if you’re getting stuck somewhere. Will be glad to help you out.
Until very soon… God bless and keep well and focused!
Jean
