"This is Samuel writing to Jean Pierre Zammit to show how this teacher and friend influenced me with his teaching and friendly advice. I was interested in guitar at a young age, but never managed to come across the right teacher. I never felt comfortable with the teachers I had and that is why my progress was always slow. For a few years I practiced alone but when I came to a realization that I was not improving, I lost heart and stopped for a while.

One day I had it dawned on me that I wanted to play again. Luckily I encountered Jean Pierre who was willing to give me direction. My first lesson was very revealing because for the first time ever, a teacher asked me what style of music I liked and what my musical goals were. He wanted to push me in those directions, and after aproximately 10-15 lessons I was already comfortable playing rifs that Jean Pierre invented. What I find interesting to say is that unlike some previous teachers I had, he creates exersises that are not boring and monotonous, but are adapted to the style his students want to learn.

Jean Pierre also gave me good advice about what guitar would be most appropriate for my style. He even offered to speak to my parents about the purchase of this guitar due to the fact that they wanted me to improve more before purchasing a guitar which they considered expensive.

His lessons are top-notch because he doesn't just teach me just for the sake of teaching, but he teaches me with great passion of the instrument and of the music.

I often come early to his lessons to hear him play guitar. It is realy wonderful to listen to Jean Pierre play because even without seeing his facial expressions I can see the feeling that he puts into the music. He also, towards the start of my musical course he asked me if I ever visited his MySpace profile. I decided to take a look, and I couldn't help myself making it a favourite, logging into the profile and listening to his inspiring music. He later gave me an EP too. My friends and I really enjoyed it too. Therefore to sum it up i have to say that he is a great artist and musician, but apart from that he is of a great inspiration to me and I am pretty sure he is like that to all his other students.

Sometimes Jean Pierre, jokingly starts playing simple finger exersises and in a few seconds builds up such a speed that I have a hard time keeping up! And suddenly he just does this incredible solo, to which I listen in amazement. This clearly explains why he loves Satriani and Steve Vai, it shows in the style of music he plays and composes. He often offered me to bring my difficulties of riffs and tabs and he could help me with them, which I find very nice and helpful of him."
