"As a student of Jean Pierre Zammit, I am using this opportunity to write about how he has influenced me both as a guitarist and as a person. When it comes to techniques and musical knowledge he is definitely one of the best guitarists Malta can offer. What also makes him a great musician is his very original and unique song writing and the different approaches he takes in his soloing. It is a pleasure to be able to listen to his own type of instrumental music.
I first started attending Jean Pierre for guitar lessons after having played the guitar for two years at a different place. I abandoned learning there in a bid to find a new mentor who could give me access to a greater knowledge of music so I could hopefully eventually find my own type of music. Jean Pierre gave me that access, and I have now been learning from him for about a year. It is thanks to him that I now feel more at ease while playing the guitar and not once would I consider changing teacher.
Jean Pierre has also given me valuable advice about playing music in a band. He has shared his views about certain riffs I have showed him and given me many useful tips that will surely come of use in the future. Hopefully with his counsel I will eventually manage to achieve some sort of success with my current band.
I hope this reference has been of use to describe a musician who has been a great mentor and friend. I have no doubts that Jean Pierre is entirely capable of being successful abroad as he has been here in Malta."
